Mario, I’ve been promised by someone that he will find me a suitable print shop to print those, so I can make a few copies. Once I solve that out, I guess I could send you one.

hi marko,

i found your article very interesting but i must say i didn't realize that the red postacard contains female model - perhaps you should do some enlargement?!!?1 :)))
i like the sunburst very much, though! i hope one of them will wait for me in my mailbox soon...

I don't know why it is, but in the summer months everybody's creativity tends to overflow into some really great extra-curricular type projects. I spent most of Saturday working on some new paintings and haven't had that kind of time since July. It's really freeing.

Also, I never saw the "stumped star" tutorial. It's similar to my solution, but easier to follow. :)

Peter, thanks for your feedback!

I’ve experimented a lot with the guy’s placement, but when I set him to a lower position, it looked like he’s falling down and not like he’s taking off.

Regarding the girl, I might try to soften it a little bit more.

There are several very nice subtleties here that I like very much, such as the wide letter spacing, the gradients, and even the use of dotted lines on the backside of the postcard.

The only thing I would do differently is drop the male figure down so that his chest is centered with the starburst. To me it seems to look like a point of impact and I would rather see his chest hitting something than his knees.

The only other thing is that on the female you’ve used a drop shadow while on the male it looks like an outer glow. I prefer the outer glow.

But, don’t get me wrong, I really like what you’ve done here. Your sunbursts look great.
